Despite my having lived in “the Bible belt” for more than half my life, I haven’t always been a Christian. In fact, I used to be a staunch atheist.
After years of behind the scenes orchestrating, God finally got my attention when I was 16 and showed me my need for Jesus. Within a year of my accepting Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, I became completely fascinated with scripture. So much so that I just had to spend the rest of my life studying and teaching Bible.
One year after marrying my wonderful husband, I graduated from Crichton College in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and Theology. I taught Bible studies, wrote a faith-based blog, and spoke at a handful of events, but I always knew God created me for more.
So, one decade and two babies later, I enrolled in seminary. In 2017 I earned a master’s degree in Christian Ministry with a focus on Homiletics from Liberty University’s School of Divinity.
Since graduating I’ve continued to teach Bible and theology classes at my church and occasionally write on my blog. But my primary ministry focus has shifted to event speaking.
My goal when I speak is to show women how the Bible really is delightfully relevant to their lives today, and how they really can study it themselves.
I want them to leave an event hungry for more of the Word of God, and eager to dive into it on their own. When they do, the Lord will use it to increase their knowledge of and affection for Him, which will create in them a desire to obey Him. They will become women who passionately pursue God for their good and His glory!
